Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is intended to stop the so-called email spoofing where an email message is sent from one address, but to seem as being sent from another, generally with the idea to scam the recipient in some way. If SPF protection is activated for a domain, a special record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers around the world get it. The record contains all of the e-mail servers that are permitted to send authentic messages from an email address within the domain. When an email is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and if its sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the target receiver. When, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the given domain, the message will not be sent and it'll be removed. Whenever you use this solution, it will stop third parties from sending spam emails that seem to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Website Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for each domain name hosted in a cloud website hosting account on our cloud platform with only a few mouse-clicks. The feature can be found in the Emails section of our modern Hepsia Control Panel and all it takes to activate it is to select one of your domains from a drop-down list and then type in the hostnames and the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers which will be authorized to send messages from your emails. As an added option you may also restrict the messages to be sent from your domain name only if it has our MX records, in other words when our servers handle the email addresses for it, not a third-party provider. This option gives you the best degree of protection, but it is not applicable if only your site is on our servers while your email addresses for the domain name are taken care of in another place. Either way, our SPF protection service will keep your email addresses risk-free from being used for spam or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you host your domain names in a semi-dedicated server account with us, you can benefit from the SPF protection feature as a part of the regular collection of services that you will receive with this kind of hosting. Starting the protection requires just several simple steps within the Hepsia Control Panel, so that even when you haven't employed this type of function before, you will not have any type of problems. Employing an exceptionally easy-to-navigate interface, you will just need to type in the details of the mail server that will be certified to send messages from your email addresses - its hostname (mail.server.com) and IP address (IPv4 or IPv6). As soon as the recently generated record propagates, no one will be able to counterfeit any e-mail address for that particular domain name and send email messages from a server different from the one you've entered. This does not specifically have to be our mail server, yet if we handle your email messages, you will be able to enable one more level of security by choosing an option that emails can be send from addresses @your-domain.com only if the domain uses our MX records. Our technical support staff will be able to help you 24/7 in case you have any questions related to this service.
